Te Waharoa Kaitautoko

I have worked at Purapura Whetu for almost 6 years, which has been an amazing journey working for a Kaupapa Maori Service. Prior to working at Purapura Whetu I worked at Youth Special Service the CAF South as a Pukenga Atawhai.

My specialty and passion is working with young people, following their journey from young teenagers to young adults and the choices they make on their way.

I am a mother of three amazing adults, granny to 8 mokopuna, ranging in age from 18 – 5 years.

I have completed trainings in Whanau Ora, Certificate and Diploma, Mindfulness Training, CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Matauranga Maori, Total Immersion Te Reo Maori. I have a Degree in Health Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Science.

I enjoy being out in nature, walking, fishing and biking. I am a keen gardener with a special interest in ecology. I maintain a worm farm and am looking at obtaining and maintaining a bee hive.

No reira Te maatau haere ki ngaa puuknega, Kaupapa, marau e hou ana (Mastering new skills, topics, and bodies of knowledge).
